It's very important and the right thing to do for me to make this public apology to Mr. Hare for my un-Christian-like words spoken hastily and that were quoted in the Daily Courier.

It was wrong of me, I should have never said it, and it was totally out of character for me. I do sincerely apologize. Please forgive me, Mr. Hare, for my unkind, careless choice of words.

Ethical leadership is still attainable in county
When Ron Smith and Chris Barnett were elected as commissioners here in Josephine County, they stepped into a system shaped by mistrust, alleged backroom deals and lowered expectations. It's falling on us to save American democracy
Protestors will descend on downtown Medford on May 1. They will demand that Trump and Musk stop trampling on Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid (the Oregon Health Plan) recipients and immigrants, on public schools and universities, and — on the First Amendment, civil rights of all, especially of women, LGBT people and racial minorities. There will be outrage about the accelerated fossil fuel destruction of Earth's fragile environment. We know that laws become irrelevant unless people, including our leaders, follow them and respect — not jail or sanction — the judges who resolve issues based on the rule of law.  Read More »
